A native of South Africa, Sonia immigrated to the United States in 1986 with her husband and business partner, Brian Cohen, along with their four children. Originally settling in Los Angeles, California, Sonia became enamored with the promotional products advertising business when she and Brian started a retail trophy and award store. Realizing there was countless opportunity in this industry for her creative and entrepreneurial energy, Sonia joined a large national promotional products company during the 1990s.
It was here that she had the opportunity to enhance her product knowledge, sales understanding and creative marketing skills and this experience served as a springboard for Sonia to take the next step in her career. Cohen Marketing International was born.
Since opening the company's doors in 2001 and undergoing a rebranding campaign in 2013 which unveiled the Creative Marketing Ideas brand, Sonia has developed a diverse and loyal customer base. She has experience working with large multi-national corporations like Nintendo, is widely known as the "go-to" person for many deadline-driven advertising and PR companies when they need the best and most creative promotional products for their clients, and has extensive networking and leadership experience, serving as an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She is credited with being a Past President for NAWBO's Ventura County chapter and stays up-to-date with the best and most innovative marketing strategies through continuing education webinars, workshops and seminars.
Today, Sonia, along with her husband, call Charlotte, North Carolina, home. Eager to partner with the best businesses and organizations in the Carolinas and beyond, Sonia's goal is simple. Namely, to provide a promotional products solution that allows for easy purchasing and total customer satisfaction. Sonia is inspired each and every day to partner with her clients and help them meet their goals. She feels rewarded with the words, "Thank you for a job well done."

Brian Cohen, Chief Financial Officer of Creative Marketing Ideas, has enjoyed a career in the promotional products advertising industry for over 25 years, and through it all two things have remained constant. First, he enjoys the challenge presented by this evolving and highly creative industry and second, he loves working shoulder-to-shoulder with his business partner, Sonia Cohen, who doubles as his wife.
As 50 percent of the Creative Marketing Ideas management team, Brian first discovered his career direction as he operated a retail trophy and award store after emigrating from South Africa to Southern California during the 1980s. Invited to attend a promotional products advertising convention, he found his calling and felt astounded by the seemingly limitless opportunity presented by this exciting industry.
Over the course of the past two decades, Brian has remained steadfast in his dedication to working with a variety of companies and is quick to point out that he especially loves the challenge presented by helping corporate accounts, real estate firms and private schools.
With a background in sales and engineering, he realizes that it is totally possible to think outside-of-the-box and has vast experience in creating unusual and unique awards and recognition programs that participants and employees alike both appreciate and remember.
As an avid golfer, Brian also is able to mix a bit of work with pleasure and has partnered with a golf event company to run mini-tournaments, corporate golf events and provide awards, gifts and embroidered wearables to attendees.
When asked about where Brian sees Creative Marketing Ideas in the future he is quick to point out that he and his wife share the combined vision that the sky is the limit. Based on the sheer number of products available to CMI and with access to over 4,000 U.S.-based vendors, Brian knows that his company has the ability to provide comprehensive solutions and support to their robust client base. Dedicated to customer relationships founded upon loyalty, quality and communication, Brian is eager to expand and grow CMI, in the Carolinas and beyond.
